OUR TWIN TOWN
St Neots has been twinned with the town of Faches-Thumesnil since 1990. Faches-Thumesnil is a small town on the outskirts of Lille in northern France. For more information on Faches have a look at the "About Faches" page.
OUR AIMS
To promote friendship and understanding between the people of St Neots and Faches-Thumesnil (and the surrounding districts of both towns).
To encourage and assist local groups and individuals to develop links with similar groups in Faches-Thumesnil. These links may be cultural, recreational, educational or commercial.
OUR ACTIVITIES
St Neots Church
The range of activities varies throughout the year and tries to respond to the wishes of the membership.
Each year we organize an exchange visit, with St Neots and Faches-Thumesnil being hosts on alternate years. This is a great opportunity to stay with a French family and find out just how friendly and hospitable they really are.
P.S. Don't be put off if you think your French is not all that it might be. The best way to improve is by spending a weekend with a French family (with the added safety net of never being too far away from a fellow English speaker).
We organize social events throughout the year - not always with a French theme - with the emphasis being on fun rather than formality.
Alongside our regular activities we support local groups to engage in their own exchanges. We also assist groups from Faches when they make visits to St Neots. For example we have organised a programme of activities for a group of young handicapped people visiting from Faches and are currently working on a similar visit to Faches for a group of young people from St Neots.
