Majorettes twirl into town - November 2007
On Friday 30th November we welcomed a group of majorettes from Faches. It had been the intention that they march in the procession leading up to the switching on of the Christmas lights but due to a serious incident, where one of the lights fell to the ground injuring a pedestrian, the procession had to be cancelled. The team were still able to put on a splendid performance in the Priory Centre for the Mayor and others.

On the following morning they joined up with local majorettes at St Neots Community College and treated us to a varied and exceptionally well executed series of demonstrations. All of us who saw the demonstration could only agree that such skill can only have been acquired after many hours of practise and a great deal of dedication.
After that they deserved a bit of fun so it was off to Eat'n Bowl where my unsurpassed skill at the simultaneous translation of shoe sizes was put to full use - I just knew it would come in handy one day. That evening they once again joined up with our local majorettes for a disco at Buckden Towers (where they were also staying for the weekend).
George must have thought he'd gone to heaven when they all lined up to
give him a thank-you kiss for his help throughout the weekend. What
stamina!
